LifeStraw is a product family owned by Vestergaard, whose products are used around the world to provide people with pure and safe drinking water. Vestergaard aims at creating a healthier world for us all to live in by cooperating with various humanitarian organizations to promote well-being and guarantee a source of clean drinking water in developing countries. For every water purifier purchased, LifeStraw makes a donation to FollowtheLiters.com providing one child in the developing world with clean drinking water for one school year.
LifeStraw water purification systems are built around hollow fibre technology; LifeStraw products use no chemicals for cleaning, are BPA-free and recyclable. Filters have a hollow fibre structure that stops virtually all bacteria, parasites and micro-plastics. In addition, some products have a separate carbon filter, which reduces chlorine, bad taste and odour, and organic chemicals such as pesticides. Some water purifiers are more suited for emergency use, while others are for almost daily outdoor use. For example, LifeStraw Mission also filters viruses from the water, which has been a big challenge.
